Target Price Match Policy

Target Price Match Policy: “Value at Target” refers to the satisfaction that comes from knowing that you got what you paid for without compromising on experience, quality, or style.
We’re still committed to making shopping easier so that we can offer our customers great deals whenever and wherever they choose to shop.
Target is America’s 8th largest retailer. Their 1900 US outlets sell a wide assortment of things. You can find beauty & health, bedding, apparel, furniture, appliances, and cuisine.
“Expect More, Pay Less” made us question Targe’s price matching and post-sale pricing modifications. Stay tuned for our team’s findings. This article covers price matching for traditional and internet retailers, as well as exceptions and exclusions.
What is considered a local retail competitor when requesting a price match?
Stores within a 25-mile radius of your neighborhood Target store are considered local retail competition for store purchases.
Local retail competitors for Target.com purchases are stores within a 25-mile radius of either the billing address or the shipping location listed for the Target.com purchase.
To accomplish the price match, the retailer or Target.com Guest Services must be able to verify the price on the website or advertisement of the local rival. Target has the right to refuse to price match if the pricing cannot be verified.
Target Price Match Policy
With Target’s price match policy, you can get a deal either right away at the register or up to 14 days after you make a purchase. Of course, you must have a comparable product at a qualified rival to do this.
With its price matching and post-sale price change policies, Target sets the bar high for consumer financial savings. They match prices from rival brick-and-mortar businesses and (some) internet retailers.
It’s also important to note that Target offers year-round price matching, which is uncommon for retail establishments (with the minor exception of Thanksgiving week).
Review this quick list to see if you have a chance before going out and requesting your price match.
- Qualified Competitor: Not all online merchants match prices. To learn which ones they are, check the list lower down.
- Cross-Store: Price discrepancies between two physical stores will not be matched.
- Store Type: Target locations will match prices on Target.com (and vice-versa).
- Availability: The item you’re attempting to match must be easily accessible in both retailers.
- Quantity: Price matching often only covers one item per customer and price matching.
Process Of Price Matching
A price match typically happens for a specific product when you find the same item for less elsewhere. You will receive the difference between the two prices if your price match is successful.
According to Target, price matching is all about “having the satisfaction of having paid the appropriate price.” You can be sure that Target will make up for any overpayments if they ever occur. It’s more crucial to keep a devoted customer satisfied than to earn a few extra dollars.
The first step in your price match request is to locate a salesperson and provide your proof to them. The price will then be reduced by that amount.
Remember that Target will not match prices if conventional (non-online) locations have different prices.
Target Price Adjustment
Target offers price adjustments, so if you discover a cheaper price within 14 days of your purchase, present proof, and Target will change the price to reflect the lower sum.
Within 14 days of your purchase, if you discover a lower price that is currently available, just present the proof, and we will, upon request, alter your payment to reflect the lower price.
Price changes and matching at Target are carried out in any lane of the shop. Call Target.com Guest Services at 1-800-591-3869 for purchases made on the website.
Although price matching can result in significant immediate savings, most of the time we are unaware of the prices of rival stores at the time. Even better would be to be granted a partial refund a few days after the transaction. It permits price comparison at home without being hurried.
You have 14 days after purchasing from Target to get a partial refund. Follow these basic guidelines.
- Bring evidence of the cheaper price (a printed ad, a website, an email ad, etc.).
- Original receipts are necessary if you decide to change the pricing later.
Target has the right to look into any claim and reject it if the price can’t be proven.
Target Online Price Match & Adjustment
The price on Target’s website is consistent with that in their actual stores, and vice versa. Although unusual for a major business, this is fantastic for its customers.
Call Target.com Guest Services at 1-800-591-3869 if you want to ask for a price match or adjustment for online purchase.
Exceptions
There are also some exclusions, as there are with every price match policy. The following criteria will prevent your items from being price-matched and/or price-adjusted. Check in advance to see if your item fits into any of the following categories:
- Store Closure & Used Items- Clearance, closeout, liquidation, as well as used, refurbished, and other non-new goods; and store closing
- Membership Sites- Retailers that demand a membership (like Sam’s Club or Costco) or log in before revealing prices are known as membership sites.
- Gift cards and coupons- credit cards, debit cards, loyalty cards, coupons.
- Typographical Errors- Pricing inaccuracies brought on by typos
- Marketplaces- Offsite fulfillment on websites of rivals.
- Alcohol- Online-only companies do not offer price matching on alcoholic products (e.g., Amazon).
- Services- These include warranties, assembly, and other product-related services.
- Location- Stores in Hawaii and Alaska won’t match online competitors’ prices.
